Me
Dr. Victor Yuen, a native of Hong Kong, is a PhD candidate in music theory at the University of Kentucky. His research focuses on schema and topic theory, semiotics in Japanese animated film music, and the music of Carlo Gesualdo. He also holds a DMA in trumpet performance from UK, with an emphasis in Baroque trumpet and historically informed performance practice. Victor has presented at the national American Musicological Society, Historic Brass Society Symposium and the North American Baroque Trumpet Conference. He has contributed to the International Trumpet Guild Journal and the Historic Brass Society Journal. Victor was named one of the 2024 Rising Diverse Graduate Scholars in Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine.
