Me
Dr. Victor Yuen, a native of Hong Kong, is the Assistant Professor of Music Theory at Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He is a PhD candidate in music theory at the University of Kentucky, with a research focus on schema and topic theory, semiotics in Japanese animated film music, and the music of Carlo Gesualdo. He also holds a DMA in trumpet performance from UK, with an emphasis in historically informed performance practice. Victor has presented at the American Musicological Society Annual Meeting, the Historic Brass Society Symposium and the International Trumpet Guild Conference. He regularly contributes to the International Trumpet Guild Journal, and the Historic Brass Society Journal. Victor was named one of the 2024 Rising Diverse Graduate Scholars in Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine.
